Child Safety Standards

Last Updated: August 2026

These standards explain the position taken by CommunoApp, a product of ClaretCode Technologies, on child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how to report a concern to us, and what we do when we receive one.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Please also report it to us so we can act on the content and the account involved.

1. Our Position

We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation on CommunoApp. Child sexual abuse material, and any content or conduct that sexualises, endangers or exploits a person under 18, is prohibited by our Terms and Conditions. It is grounds for removing the content and permanently terminating the account responsible.

2. Who Can Use CommunoApp

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian, as set out in our Terms.

Where we identify an account belonging to someone under 13, we close the account and delete the associated data.

3. What Is Prohibited

The following are prohibited everywhere on CommunoApp, including in posts, events, listings, shared spaces, comments, profiles and private messages:

  • Child sexual abuse material, in any form.
  • Content that sexualises a person under 18.
  • Grooming: building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Soliciting sexual content from, or sending sexual content to, a minor.
  • Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate imagery of a minor.
  • Trafficking, or otherwise facilitating the exploitation of a minor.
  • Any other content or conduct that puts a child's safety at risk.

4. How to Report a Concern

Reporting is available in the app, on both content and people:

Where How
A post, event, listing, shared space or comment Open the menu and choose Report
A conversation Open the menu at the top and choose Report
Someone's profile Use the report button on their profile

Choose Child safety, select the reason that fits best, and describe what you saw. You do not need to be certain, and you do not need to know who is involved.

You can also report a concern by email, whether or not you have a CommunoApp account, to support@claretcode.com.

Please Do Not Forward the Material

When reporting suspected child sexual abuse material, do not attach, forward or re-share it. Tell us where it is and we will retrieve it. Sharing such material is an offence in most jurisdictions, even when done in order to report it.

5. What We Do With Reports

  • Reports raised under child safety are treated as a priority and reviewed ahead of other reports.
  • We record the reported content as it appeared at the time it was reported, so that a later edit or deletion does not affect the review.
  • Where we identify prohibited content or conduct, we remove access to the content and act on the account. That may include removing the person from a community, disabling their account, or terminating it permanently.
  • We keep a record of each review and its outcome.
  • We tell the person who reported it that their report has been reviewed. We do not disclose what action was taken in respect of another person's account.

We do not investigate suspected child sexual abuse material ourselves beyond what is necessary to identify and preserve it, and we do not circulate it internally.

6. Reporting to Authorities

Where we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline, and to the relevant national or regional authority where applicable law requires it. We cooperate with valid legal requests from law enforcement.

7. Preserving Records

We retain reports and their associated records for as long as necessary to review them, to meet our legal obligations, and to assist a lawful investigation. An account that is the subject of an open child safety review cannot be deleted while that review is in progress.

8. Point of Contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAE matters, including enquiries from authorities, is:
